Looking at History, who are the people who have changed things? Well, it has never been the government, the government is only forced to do it. Change is never initiated from the top. It is we, the people who demand change. Without demands, stuff doesn't get done. It is young people that hold the idea that things could be different. It is young people that demanded the Civil Rights Act. It is young people that demanded women's rights. It is young people that demanded minimum wage and the Clean Water Act. And it is also the young people today that are pushing for policing in this country to be completely reimagined. Some people will argue (on the idea of change) that this is the way things are, and there is nothing we can do about it. However, History is proof that things have always been assorted differently, and that fundamental change, though it takes time, is indeed possible.
